David Clower

David G. Clower currently serves as Chief Investment Officer of the Raza Development Fund (RDF), the largest Latino-led, non-profit community development financial institution (CDFI) in the United States with over $500 million in capital under management.

He joined RDF in 2010, then, as its Chief Credit Officer after nearly 20 years of commercial and investment banking experience across commercial real estate, venture-debt, private equity, alternative and socially responsible, impact investment platforms.

In 2019, Mr. Clower founded Desert Cove Ventures, a private family office dedicated to positive, social impact through alternative investment strategies that seek to deliver premium, risk-adjusted, socially-responsible investment returns across a range of asset classes by combining rigorous investment analysis that prioritizes environmental, social, and corporate governance (ESG) considerations with expert execution leading to demonstrably, positive social outcomes in underserved communities.

He is a multi-national with dual citizenship in the United States and México. He studied Applied Economics at the University of San Francisco; Commercial Real Estate Finance at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology; and Strategic Business Leadership at the University of Chicago Booth School of Business. Mr. Clower is also a Chartered Alternative Investment Analyst (CAIA) candidate.

He serves as a member of the National Trust Community Investment Corporation’s Board of Directors and as Vice Chair of its Audit, Finance & Risk Committee. He previously served as an Executive Committee Member of the New Markets Tax Credit Coalition’s Board of Directors. Mr. Clower also serves on the Phoenix Conservatory of Music’s Board of Directors and as its Treasurer. He lives in Scottsdale, Arizona.
